    Duties include supervising professional accountants; reviewing general ledger account reconciliations; planning and directing the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and related statements; preparing monthly financial reports; investigating and resolving complex accounting issues; monitoring the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations; developing financial policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP; interpreting / implementing Governmental Accounting Standard Board Statements; and assisting in annual budget preparation and administration. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or a related field and five years relevant experience, including two years supervisory experience required. Governmental accounting experience preferred and Tyler Munis experience a plus. Must currently be a CPA or be able to obtain Texas licensure within a specified timeframe. Hours may include some evenings and weekends. A rsum must be submitted with application.

    THOSE WHOSE DATE OF HIRE (START DATE) IS FEBRUARY 19, 2023 THROUGH JULY 31,2024, ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A HIRING INCENTIVE
    • Individuals hired into this position will receive $1000 after their first 30 days of employment provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
    • Employees that successfully complete their 6-month orientation period will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000 provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
    • Employees that successfully complete one year of employment without
      documented attendance or disciplinary issues will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000.
    • The maximum amount of hiring incentive that an individual employee may receive is $3,000.
