Sr. Quality Engineer

The Sr.

Quality Engineer ensures companycompliance with customer and internal quality requirements in a highreliability manufacturing environment, drives supplier related quality initiatives and lead supplier development efforts, tracks and assesses quality performance metrics and facilitate root cause analysisinvestigations, facilitates processimprovements utilizing Lean/Six Sigma techniques, and instills a quality culture throughout theoperational processes.

Starting as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush and eventually assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed.

Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets.

We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications.

Our Facility in Carson, CA is our Engineered Products Group location, which houses our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, Radiofrequency Departments.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Plan anddirect development, application and maintenance of quality systems andprocedures
Performtrend/performance analyses and initiates root cause investigations
Ensurecompliance with program/project quality requirements
Developand implement inspection and test methods, techniques, equipment andfacilities
Drivesupplier related quality initiatives and lead supplier development efforts
Act asprimary company interface with both suppliers and customers for qualityrelated issues
Knowledge of electromechanical products
Ability to multi-task and manage multiplepriorities in a timely and efficient manner
Excellent communications skills with all levelsof employees and management
Be ableto write and review FAI reports in accordance with AS9102
Demonstratedknowledge and analytical skills for most types of inspection tools
Able toread and interpret documents such as blueprints and mechanical drawingsincluding knowledge of
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Abilityto develop quality standards, procedures and train personnel in their use
Familiaritywith industry quality management standards such as AS9100/ISO 9001 andtechnical standards such as J-STD-001/IPC-610
Advancedcomputer skills required
Knowledgeof statistical methods and their application

Required Experience and Education
Bachelorof Science degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
SupplierQuality Engineering / Supplier Development experience
10-15years professional experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a high reliability / aerospace product environment

Licenses, Certifications, etc.
CertifiedQuality Engineer (CQE) preferred
SixSigma/Lean Green Belt certification
