Job Description
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Patient Experience Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Patient Experience department.
The responsibilities of the Supervisor include/but are not limited to hiring, orienting, evaluating, and coaching department team members to provide highest level of performance.
This position is responsible for creating and posting a work and call schedule in a timely manner. This schedule is based on equal shouldering of responsibilities by all department members. The schedule should demonstrate a work approach that maximizes workflow and team member utilization. The Supervisor will assume call responsibilities as appropriate.The Supervisor assists with planning and preparation of the department budget and ensures efficient day-to-day operations with relation to approved budgets.
The Supervisor portrays department goals and objectives in a positive light so as to create a cohesive and cooperative relationship with all team members.
The Supervisor often serves as the key communication person between patients, families, hospital guests, healthcare providers, and the hospital's professional staff.
The Supervisor will work with a diverse population from various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds, including children and the aged, offering compassionate assistance.
Since the Supervisor frequently experiences ambiguous and uncertain situations, the Supervisor must possess strong stress management techniques along with crisis intervention skills and a courteous, positive attitude that reflects a genuine concern for patients, families and visitors.
The Supervisor must be able to address awkward situations with tact and diplomacy.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Training/experience in health care preferred. CPR certification preferred. Exceptional communication and public relations skills. Basic computer knowledge including word processing and spreadsheets. Must be knowledgeable of patient experience measures, initiatives, and best practice.
