    Description

    Electrical Engineer, PE Job Description

    Seeking an Electrical Engineer who designs, constructs, and deploys electrical systems suitable for our Power Equipment Center manufacturing business in Conroe, TX. Texas, Colorado, and California PE license are required. Knowledge of switchgear, MCC and control panel drawings and interconnects would be essential for this position. Duties to include troubleshooting for electrical assemblies, supporting the development of systems from concept to manufacturing, and collaborating with our electrical designers to create the needed electrical design for each detailed Power Equipment Center.

    PCI is actively searching for an Electrical PE to assist in planning and design support of projects.

  • Review electrical designs and supervises EIT staff on small, medium, and large projects.
  • Review layouts and designs per NEC requirements.
  • Review and redline existing projects as well as new project work.
  • Review project specifications, drawings and BOM's for issues.
  • Review and check cable tray layouts and part numbers on drawings.
  • Coordinate cable trays, HVAC duct and equipment busduct with structural team.
  • Review design staff generated electrical detail blocks for usage.
  • Review customer/vendor Switchgear, MCC and Control Panel equipment drawings and incorporate interconnects.
  • Offer advice and support to Project Managers, EIT's, Electrical Draftsmen and Designers as required.
  • Interface with the Project Management Team for project/contract documentation and schedules.
  • Manage issues with damaged equipment, determining necessary actions to rectify problems with QC department and Clients as required.

    • Minimum qualifications include the following:

  • Electrical PE with state of Texas, California, and Colorado license.
  • Other state licenses are optional.
  • AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite experience or training.
  • Advanced training in NEC, IEC and other electrical codes and regulations applicable to projects.
  • Experience analyzing and designing power and control circuits, including MCC, switchgear, power transformers, distribution panels and transfer switches.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • People management skills to run department of ten including EIT candidates and designer / drafters.
