    Description

The Mount Sinai Department of Neurology is seeking enthusiastic applicants for an exciting opportunity in our Neurohospitalist Division

This full-time faculty position will primarily involve inpatient general neurology work (non-stroke) within our New York City based health system, where you will provide high quality care for patients with a broad range of complex neurological diseases and neurological manifestations of systemic illness. This position offers a number of potential opportunities including collaboration with superb neurological and neurosurgical subspecialists, participation in and contribution to a robust QA/PI program, and engagement in education of trainees, as well as the opportunity to further best practice integration of APPs into our service lines. The Neurohospitalist Division at the Mount Sinai Health System is a rapidly growing and dynamic space, where creativity, collaboration, and motivation are highly valued. Commensurate with the applicant's specialization and interests, this position may also include a mixture of outpatient clinical work and procedures, such as participation in teaching clinics. Weekend coverage includes a blend of in person and teleneurology coverage across sites.

The successful candidate for this position will be appointed as an Assistant Professor (or higher commensurate with experience) in the Department of Neurology in the renowned Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Mount Sinai's Department of Neurology is strongly committed to caring for the whole patient and places special emphasis on providing patient-centered care, embracing the mission of the Icahn School of Medicine by pursuing an integrative approach to patient care, research, and education. The chosen candidate must have excellent clinical skills and an interest in inpatient general neurology consultation. Our recently-formed, systemwide Neurohospitalist Division is establishing practice standards, metrics, and protocols for inpatient neurology care quality across the Mount Sinai Health System, collaborating with NeuroCritical Care, Stroke, Epilepsy and other services, as appropriate, and harnessing information technology to elevate the quality and safety of care. The successful candidate will be part of the Department's Neurohospitalist Division and should partner in establishing a track record of excellence in clinical care and fostering a high level of teamwork with colleagues across hospitals and services. The successful candidate has the option to teach neurology residents on electives from our ACGME-approved adult neurology residency programs, as well as medical students on electives from ISMMS.

Epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology (EEG track) training is welcome and desirable as there are opportunities to work with the epilepsy division and read inpatient EEGs.
