    At Convertible, we leverage data to drive intelligent decision-making and optimize operations across various industries. Our Senior Data Engineers play a crucial role in designing and implementing robust data infrastructure that enables organizations to harness the full potential of their data assets.

    About the Role

    We are seeking Senior Data Engineers who will work closely with a diverse team of Scientists, Researchers, and Engineers to develop and maintain data pipelines, warehouses, and analytics solutions. This role involves:

    • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs and design scalable data architecture to support their goals.
    • Developing and optimizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure efficient and reliable data flow from various sources.
    • Building and maintaining data warehouses and lakes to provide a centralized repository for data storage and analysis.
    • Implementing data quality checks and validation mechanisms to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
    • Collaborating with Data Scientists and Analysts to provide clean, structured data for analytics and machine learning projects.
    • Optimizing data retrieval and query performance to support real-time analytics and reporting.
    • Ensuring data security and compliance with privacy regulations and industry standards.
    • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

    Ideal Candidate

    You might excel in this role if you:

    • Are passionate about leveraging data to drive meaningful ML solutions.
    • Have a strong background in data engineering and experience in designing and implementing data infrastructure at scale or from scratch.
    • Are proficient in data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift) and data integration tools (e.g., Airflow, Talend).
    • Possess expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra) and are skilled in data modeling and schema design.
    • Have experience with big data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) and are comfortable working with large datasets.
    • Are proficient in programming languages commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
    • Have a solid understanding of data security best practices and experience in implementing data governance policies.
    • Enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and have strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging data problems, architecting solutions that enable organizations to make data-driven decisions and drive operational excellence.

    This forward-deployed role requires 1-3 days in an office.
