To ensure this complex job goes off without a hitch, Supply Chain teams work with a network of more than 50 distribution centers, thousands of accounts, and more than 100,000 retail stores worldwide making the impossible happen every single day.

    Based in Memphis, TN., the Transportation Analyst (Diverts) will be responsible for day-to-day execution of inbound transportation data management for Nikes Distribution Centers, a critical part of our dynamic and rapidly growing NA Supply Chain. Reporting to the Transportation Ops Manager, the Transportation Analyst will complete inbound flow effectively and efficiently to minimize expedites. This role will work with cross functional partners to complete diverts, cancels, and redirection of freight flowing in the Nike Distribution Center (DC) Network. In addition to ensuring all NIKE diverts are completed systematically and shipments are shipped on time out of our 3PL locations, this role will be tasked to support the development of carrier delivery requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics. This role will work cross-functionally with First Mile, Inventory, Marketplace Ops, and Fulfillment Teams to coordinate DC freight, identifying and calling out exceptions with solutions. In addition to being responsible for the execution of Transportation plans for shipping peak seasons and capacity constraints, the operational execution for month/year end for all DCs is a primary focus for this role. This role will work closely with Middle Mile Capabilities team to provide input to development Transportation network solutions that meet the current and future needs of NIKE and our customers

    The Transportation OPS (DC) Team will support multiple businesses and customers for Nike including wholesale, digital, and Nike retail stores by partnering with the Regional Logistics and LSP Management teams to develop and maintain standardized performance metrics for all domestic carriers

    Key Job Responsibilities

    Responsible for management of diverts within Nike Systems to ensure timely pick-up and delivery to our Nike DCs.

    Complete Transportation plans for shipping peak season and monthly/quarterly/year-end

    Proactively find opportunities to minimize expedites/diverts

    Ensure accurate ASN management/creation for all Inbound to DC shipments.

    Provide continuous improvement and trend analysis for divert business.

    Conduct root cause analysis and solutioning as issues arise.

    Provide support for escalation issues as they relate to redirection of freight throughout the Supply Chain

    Proactively identify DC transportation opportunities (e.g., mode optimization, backhaul opportunities, RTV programs) and raise to appropriate transportation leader

    Implement continuous improvement activities to improve on operating metrics and performance, specifically related to cost, service, and compliance (e.g. route optimization, carrier selection, backhauls, and trailer loading)

    Aggregate carrier performance data (late pick-ups/deliveries) from TMS and report to LSP Management to support carrier QBR/MBRs (Note: this data will be used to advise Middle Mile Transportation business decisions as well)

    Conduct data mining and data analysis to identify trends, opportunities and provide concrete summaries of key findings on a consistent and proactive basis. Assist in defining, measuring and communicating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    Education

    Bachelor's Degree or higher in business or a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Computer Science, Data Science or Information Quality) or combination of relevant education, experience, and training

    Skills and Qualifications

    Transportation Operations, DC operations a plus

    Drive continuous improvement in conjunction with key partners

    Ability to collaborate with both internal and external partners

    Demonstrates the ability to determine goals, direction and action steps necessary to improve short-term and long-term.

    Proven track record to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis

    Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Access

    Ability to influence the organization cross functionally and at multiple levels to achieve strategy implementation

    Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally

    Strong project management, presentation, and facilitation skills

    Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in both with the ability to communicate detailed analytical information in an appropriate manner through all levels of the organization

    Strong analytical skills in order to interpret data and build presentations

    Detailed oriented and ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks

    Experience

    1+ year of experience in transportation, logistics or supply chain

    Experience working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and team-based environment

    Experience driving performance through metrics and use data to drive continuous process improvement.

    Experience being accountable for cost, quality, and service performance and for making decisions when trade-offs are required.

    Preferred:

    2+ years of experience performing data analysis using various tools such as Excel, Access, Tableau or Alteryx

    Proficiency with SAP, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Database Management
