Description
As our Supplier Quality Engineer in Olathe, KS, you are responsible for quality assurance of all purchased material used in the Olathe assembly facility.
The position is critical for ensuring the delivery of quality components from established suppliers and developing new suppliers to meet Olathe factory quality requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES Process Assurance Provide supplier quality planning support for new product developmentDefine quality risk level and Advanced Part Quality Planning requirement for new partsDrive supplier APQP process and approve resulting PPAPReport supplier quality planning updates and issues to project managementContribute in project meetings, drawing reviews, engineering and manufacturing pilotsSupplier Qualification & Development Support Sourcing in supplier selection, assessment, approval, and quality improvementEducate suppliers in Husqvarna quality assurance expectations and best practicesPerform Full Supplier Quality Audits and follow up with corrective actionsQuality Deviations Manage disposition and cost recovery for non-conforming material from suppliersWork with Quality Control to determine fault classification and escalation levelsWork with Quality Control to develop incoming material inspection plansDrive supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D) and validate resultsReport monthly reject rate (PPM) and quality issues to the Global SQE ManagerContinuous Improvement Provide supplier quality planning support in the Product Improvement arenaFacilitate component design improvements for improved quality and manufacturabilityAnalyze and mitigate supplier quality risks through preventive actionsCRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Solid knowledge of MS Office software and applications.
Solid knowledge in supplier quality assurance processes.Solid knowledge of quality management systems.
Working knowledge of measurement systems and tools.
Working knowledge of assembly procedures and tools.
Working knowledge of machinery function and operation.
Working knowledge of quality auditing practices and tools.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree required.3-5 years' working experience in manufacturing or purchasing.
Certified Supplier Quality Professional (ASQ) preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONSVariety of manufacturing environments.
