    About the Position

    As Electrical Engineer, you will perform electrical engineering duties in the area of renewable power distribution and provide technical support to electrical design and construction of renewable energy assets including solar arrays for onsite generation, battery energy storage systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

    You will use independent judgment in analyzing electrical engineering aspects of design and systems implemented at distributed energy generation locations.

    You will work from general policies and objectives, refer to the supervisor when clarification or interpretation of organization policy is needed, and exercise work supervision over electricians and other labor positions associated with electrical processes and applications.

    This position reports to the Cherry Street Energy Chief Technology Officer.

    You will be responsible for:


    Designing and coordinating the next generation renewable energy infrastructure including solar energy systems, battery energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging systems, within a multi-functional team to realize onsite power generation for distributed energy resources.

    Providing technical support in the areas of programmable logic control, electrical machinery, instrumentation, emission monitoring systems, electrical power systems and other activities involved in the use of electrical engineering principles and applications.

    Maintaining distributed energy electrical and control systems documentation. Requires generation and revisions of CAD files, manual drawings, control logic logs, equipment specifications, etc.

    Planning, recommending, designing, and supervising the installation and commissioning of projects which are of electrical or control system and/or data acquisition systems in nature, or require electrical engineering support.

    Reviewing project documents to confirm that all the necessary requirements are met.
    Studying new products available in the market, analyzing their processing applications and making appropriate recommendations to management.
    Performing computer programming and other data processing support duties. Solving problems associated with software and hardware and writing custom tailored programs to monitor performance and increase productivity.

    Maintaining awareness of current industry trends and practices by attending professional association meetings, seminars and/or reading trade journals and industry magazines.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    Knowledge of electrical engineering theories, principles and techniques.
    Knowledge/interest of sustainable energy resources such as photovoltaic systems and energy storage technologies.
    Working knowledge of contract management practices and cement manufacturing processes.
    Strategic planning, decision making, communication and negotiation skills.
    Ability to use engineering equipment such as measuring devices, calculators, computers, etc.
    Ability to climb ladders and walk over rough, slippery and uneven surfaces.
    Must be available for off-hour assistance for equipment breakdown/malfunctions.
    Knowledge of electrical and control systems, instrumentation, computer operations, and other related technical areas preferred.
    Ability to sign and stamp drawings and other technical documentation.
    Ability to understand and operate computer software and hardware preferred.
    Ability to use engineering and electronic equipment such as measuring devices, calculators and computers preferred.
    You're the right person for this job if you:
    B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering. Primary emphasis in Electrical Engineering preferred.
    Desire to obtain a Professional Engineer License or currently licensed.
