    Description

    Corporate Tax Accountant

    Were looking for a Tax Accountant who is a team play with and excited about working with various entities, including partnerships, S corporations, limited liability companies, and trusts in a Private Company setting. This person will have an opportunity to work with the internal team and with external third party service providers.

    The Tax Accountant is part of a team to lead project management to meet internal and external deadlines for preparation and filing of tax returns and other related projects. Provides high-quality service by gathering, preparing, and organizing tax information, responding to, and anticipating requests to ensure an efficient and timely process. All tax returns are prepared by outside tax firms. This person will be doing review and be a part of planning and strategy.

    Responsibilities:

    • Part of a team meet internal and external deadlines by proactive project management.
    • Manages intake, organization and follow up on info needed for the preparation of tax returns.
    • Manages, monitor, and maintain tax and other confidential documents so that records and correspondence are easily retrieved and available for future reference and use.
    • Proactively updates the team with updates on status of projects, next steps, etc.
    • Processes requests for information such as providing copies of tax returns and K-1s.
    • signature of Electronic Filing Signature Authorizations and tax returns.
    • Participate in annual tax return compliance planning with Tax team.
    • Drafts non-technical letters to the IRS or state taxing authorities.
    • Planning and preparation for tax season tax folder roll-forwards (BOX/SharePoint), roll- forward/creation of tracking boards and checklists.
    • Tracks all third-party tax service agreements and invoices to ensure proper document storage, project compliance and timely payment.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance.
    • Two plus years tax experience and accounting.
    • CPA or actively pursuing CPA a plus.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.
    • Ability to keep professional matters and information confidential.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
    • Excellent organizational, time management skills, detailed oriented, and multi-tasker.
    • Outgoing personality; team player.
