JOB TITLE: Clinical Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Women's Health and Nursery
REPORTS TO: Director of Women's Health
JOB SUMMARY
The Women's Health Clinical Supervisor is an experienced professional staff member directly responsible to the Department Director. The Clinical Supervisor is competent to function independently as a clinical staff member of the department team.
The Women's Health Clinical Supervisor must be able to serve on his/her assigned unit.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
They must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs; and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/ area's/ department's policies and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTSCurrent Wyoming licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
EXPERIENCE
Prefer experience in developing and presenting education/in-services. Require minimum of 2 years' experience in Women's Health Services to include Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, and Nursery.
SKILLS
Knowledge of obstetrical/neonatal/women's health care nursing principles. Requires ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Must be able to write policies and procedures, and interact effectively with a wide variety of people. Position requires excellent communication skills. Able to assume a leadership role and serve as an example to other employees. Knowledge of Office Suite products including Word and Outlook, and ability to use them proficiently. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all matters.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
BLS (AHA), NRP, and Fetal Monitoring is required. STABLE Certification, NRP Instructor and/or EFM Instructor is preferred.
