    JOB TITLE: Clinical Supervisor ACU/CCU

    DEPARTMENT: Acute Care/Critical Care

    REPORTS TO: Director of ACU/CCU

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Clinical Supervisor of ACU/CCU will lead and manage department, clinical and administrative operations, department human resources, financial resources and hospital mission and goals. To collaborate with other hospital departments, teams and functions in order to coordinate quality cost effective care and hospital wide systems. To supervise, coordinate, and direct the activities of the Acute Care Unit and Critical Care Unit in the performance of consistently high-quality patient care. The Clinical Supervisor must be able to serve on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status; and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs; and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/ area's/ department's policies and procedures.

    Patients served are Medical, Surgical, Swing bed, Psychiatric, Critical Care, and Pediatric – both Inpatient and Observations.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. Prefer Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Certification as RNC (Medical/Surgical) or CRRN or CCRN is desired. BLS, PALS and ACLS certification is required.

    EXPERIENCE

    Experience in managing personnel.

    Previous experience in Acute Care Services and two years critical care services preferred.

    SKILLS

    Knowledge of Medical, Surgical, CCU, Psychiatric and Pediatric care nursing principles. Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Must be able to write policies and procedures and interact effectively with a wide variety of people. Excellent communication skills. Able to assume a leadership role and serve as an example to other employees.
