    Description

    Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at the corporate data center in San Antonio, TX. This critical role involves supporting the enterprise network infrastructure, including structured copper and fiber distribution systems, switch and router configurations, and server and appliance configurations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure engineering, a keen ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and a passion for driving sustainable and integrated system designs. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with senior IT professionals, and contribute to the strategic direction of our enterprise network environment.

    This role is onsite in San Antonio, TX. It is a 4-month contract. The pay rate is commensurate with experience but can go up to $70/hr W2.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical requirements that support integrated and sustainable designs for infrastructure systems.
    • Collaborate with architects and engineers to convert functional specifications into scalable and maintainable system designs.
    • Provide consultation and technical advice on IT infrastructure planning and engineering for assigned systems.
    • Develop, validate, and execute infrastructure tests to identify system errors and ensure solutions meet functional specifications.
    • Support the implementation and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure systems to ensure successful deployment and operation.
    • Share expertise and collaborate with technology partners to define and understand target strategies.

    Required Certifications/Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)

    Additional Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT support environment with technical experience in distributed technologies and systems development.
    • At least 2 years of infrastructure engineering experience working across multiple domains, platforms, or specialty areas.
    • Experience leading projects with or without direct reports.
    • Proficiency in MS Visio and Remedy for documentation and change management.
