      JOB SUMMARY

      The Data Engineer II - Enterprise Analytics position involves aiding in the conception, construction, and implementation of data-driven solutions within the framework of Enterprise Analytics' data strategy and objectives. Specifically, the Data Engineer II - Enterprise Analytics is tasked with crafting dependable ETL processes and adaptable data pipelines to underpin the analytics and business intelligence ecosystem, encompassing modeling and machine learning, visualizations, reports, cubes, applications, and more. Additionally, the Data Engineer II - Enterprise Analytics contributes to data modeling efforts and the development of data models and data marts by deciphering the business logic necessary to transform intricate concepts into sustainable value-adding procedures.

      QUALIFICATIONS
      • Must be at least 21 years of age.
      • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, analytics, or a related field is mandatory; master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
      • Ability to acquire and uphold a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certifications or licenses mandated by law or policy.
      • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in constructing data pipelines and ETL processes is required.
      • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in generating visualizations and reports using tools like PowerBI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Google Analytics is required.
      • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in advanced SQL writing, data mining, and working with traditional relational databases, i.e., tables, views, window functions, scalar and aggregate functions, primary/foreign keys, indexes, DML/DDL statements, joins, and unions; and/or distributed systems, i.e., Hadoop, BigQuery, is required.
      • Minimum one (1) year of experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, R, or BigQuery is mandatory.
      • Familiarity with either Microsoft Power Suite: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, etc.; Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or RPA tools is preferred.
      • Proficient understanding of data types, data structures, and database systems along with their specific use cases is required.
      • Thorough understanding of data modeling principles including dimensional modeling and data normalization principles is required.
      • Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Excel formulas, data manipulation, VBA macros, charting, and Pivot Tables is required.
      • Demonstrates exceptional critical thinking skills and is an effective problem solver with a knack for devising creative solutions.
      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Collaborate closely with Enterprise Analytics BI analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to grasp business challenges and construct or automate data frameworks utilized by analytics products, i.e., reports, dashboards, cubes, etc.
      • Develop BI solutions, encompassing dashboards, using Power BI, and reports utilizing SSRS, Excel, and Cognos.
      • Design logic for key performance indicators as requested by business leadership.
      • Diagnose existing issues and devise new ETLs, SSIS packages, SQL stored procedures, and jobs.
      • Aid in Star and Snowflake modeling, crafting dimensional models, and refining ETL processes.
      • Craft efficient SQL code for deployment within data pipelines and data processing.
      • Lead data quality initiatives like data profiling and cleansing processes.
      • Formulate best practices and strategies to facilitate continuous process automation for data ingestion and pipelines.
      • Employ innovative problem-solving techniques and critical thinking to address complex data challenges.
      • Conduct thorough testing, optimization, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning of queries to enhance efficiency.
      • Manage existing and develop new Microsoft Power Apps solutions including Power Automate, PowerBI, Flows, etc., to meet business requirements.
      • Execute Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing processes to support an agile development cycle.
      • Produce documentation outlining table design, step mapping, and underlying logic within data marts to ease data adoption, with minimal guidance from Enterprise Analytics management.
      • Identify areas for improvement not only within owned tasks but also across other business domains.
      • Mentor and train junior data engineers on optimal practices and techniques for query and ETL optimization.
      • Create and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and dashboards.
      • Consolidate fragmented enterprise reporting into a standardized format for enhanced visualization and cross-departmental comprehension.
      • Develop reporting structures that accurately interconnect cross-departmental data, enabling on-demand delivery of ad-hoc reports.
      • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, considering it an integral aspect of the role.
      • Demonstrate consistent and punctual attendance as a core requirement of the position.
      • Fulfill any other related duties as assigned.
      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

      Must be able to:
      • Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
      • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
      • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
      • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
      • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
      • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
      • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
