SummaryOur client in Houston, TX is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. This position will have high growth potential for the right team member.

This position will report to the Manufacturing and Process Manager and will work closely with the Manufacturing Floor Manager and other members of the operations and engineering teams to implement, review, and optimize manufacturing processes and excellence systems to ensure effective execution.

This role is based at their Baytown, TX office.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists with commodity strategies that support the desired profitability, level of quality, and cycle time of various product lines to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Assesses the facility's resource requirements, designing & optimizing facility layout and critical operational system.
Oversees planning, coordinating, and maintaining infrastructure and equipment, and contractors performing maintenance activities.
Streamlines processes and material flow to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Contributes to cost reduction efforts internally and externally by actively seeking and implementing opportunities for reduced costs.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems with existing processes and products and makes modifications and improvements as needed.
Coordinates and updates documentation such as manufacturing, equipment, test method and other instructions.
Creates leaner, more efficient and more profitable business practices.
Stays abreast of changes in technology that will improve manufacturing efficiency.
Assists with determining supplier capabilities and sourcing of new products.
Possesses a mindset that understands and accepts that handling semiconductor grade chemicals may be different from handling general chemicals.
Is able and willing to respond to emergencies for a 24/7 operating plant.
Other duties as assigned.

Job RequirementsDetails:

Basic QualificationsMinimum 3 years experience working in a chemical manufacturing plantA Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering requiredUnderstanding of purification and distillation processSoftware experience: Excel, PPT etc.

Preferred QualificationsCAD drawing experienceSpanish language speaking and writing ability is a plusKorean and/or Japanese language speaking and writing ability is a plusWillingness to learn KoreanChemical manufacturing plant for semiconductor experienceFacilities management experience (Chiller, Compressor, Cooling tower, Boiler, Pump, etc.)Start-up / new factory experience Supervisory ResponsibilitiesPossible future managerial responsibilities Physical DemandsMust be able to respond to visual and audible alarmsRegular and consistent attendance at the siteCommunicationStrong verbal, written, and presentation skillsMust be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employeesKorean, Spanish, and/or Japanese language speaking and writing ability is a plus Work Environment
