    Summary: The Technology Inventory Coordinator performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of maintaining accurate inventory of all technology items owned by CMS. Duties include but are not limited to receiving, inventorying, packing, asset tagging, prepping and shipping technology to CMS schools and departments. The position is also responsible for communication, coordination and customer support between Information Systems and Support teams, warehouse team, and schools. Supervision of temporary workers (as necessary) during audits of inventory at our warehouse, schools, and departments.

    Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.)

    • Reviews all technology inventory policies and procedures to ensure NC testing laws, policies and procedures regarding secure handling, storage, distribution and destruction for applicability.
    • Receives inventory and stages technology items from vendors.
    • Maintains accurate accounting for all received and shipped technology items using established processes and programs provided
    • Organizes technology materials in the IS&S designated areas in the warehouse.
    • Accurately packs required amount of technology devices or items by school or department for shipping or pickup.
    • Organizes and stages technology items for shipments by courier route to schools.
    • Updates CMS inventory system after technology shipment/return to ensure accurate inventory is available.
    • Communicates directly with managers about and inventory discrepancies.
    • Reconciles all returned technology items to ensure no discrepancies from what was provided.
    • Assists IT Inventory Manager, IT Inventory administrator, or Depot Manager as needed.
    • Supervises temporary workers as necessary.
    • Coordinates and schedules materials shipping and packing dates/times with CMS Warehousing and Distribution Couriers.
    • Palletizes and stores technology items between deployments and projects.
    • Assist technology depot team with inventory management as needed.
    • Ability and willingness to learn how to drive a forklift.
    • Performs related duties as assigned
    Education and Experience:

    Minimum
    • Associate degree in areas that required coursework in technology, business management, or inventory management
    or
    • 3 years of experience working in a K-12 IT environment
    • Three years' experience in customer service or related area
    • Experience in an Inventory Software System
    Desirable
    • Bachelor's degree in areas that required coursework in technology, business management, or inventory management
    • Five or more years customer service experience
    • Experience in an Inventory Software System
    Licensing / Certification Requirements:

    Lift Truck Operator (Desired)

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
    • Fundamental knowledge of warehousing and inventory practices.
    • Knowledge of warehouse, and workplace safety regulations.
    • Knowledge of the rules and regulations regarding the administration of standardized testing.
    • Ability to maintain positive internal relationships with other CMS departments and staff members.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
    • Ability to work confidentially and with discretion.
    • Supervises temporary workers as necessary during audits
    • Possess time management and organization skills to balance multiple tasks during a short time period.
    • Ability to verify courier route sheets documents are complete and accurate.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Possess problem-solving skills to research and seek answers to questions.
    • Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products and G-Suite.
    • Good organizational and time management skills.
    • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Assists on other projects within the office of Technology as needed.
    • Ability to learn to operate a forklift
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

    The work is primarily sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending, squatting, reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push objects up to 50 pounds. The work sometimes requires activities involving driving automotive or lift truck equipment.
