    Target Salary: $80,000 - $100,000+ dependent on experience.

    Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities

    Supporting/Assist the Project Manager with:

    Coordinating

    • Represent SitelogIQ (SIQ) professionally and with utmost courtesy, precision, positivity, respect, and attention to detail when engaging with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
    • Demonstrate effective and proactive communication skills, fostering clear interactions within our internal teams and in our dealings with external customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
    • Champion the delivery of exceptional customer service.
    • Maintain equilibrium while managing multiple contracts of varying sizes, ensuring customer expectations are met while working with efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate seamlessly with various SIQ functional teams encompassing operations, business development, and engineering.
    • Prepare and review critical documents such as meeting minutes, proposals, memos, emails, and other forms of correspondence.
    • Compile monthly status reports to monitor progress.
    • Coordinate the progress billing process from project initiation to completion, including the collection of schedule of values from Project Managers, lien releases from vendors and subcontractors, certified payrolls from subcontractors, and validation of invoices in partnership with Project Managers and Accounts Receivable, all while maintaining thorough records for future reference.Coordinate project activities with utility and government regulatory agencies as needed.
    • Assist with the acquisition of utility Interconnection.
    • Assist with obtaining CA DSA approval on K-12 projects.
    • Development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans and documentation.
    • Ensure utility agreements, commissioning records, as-built records, O&M and training are provided to clients.
    • Coordinate warranty responses and/or ongoing monitoring support.
    • Change control documentation and related financial documentation.
    • Ensure all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements to include records of communications, design documents, bid packages, addenda, bulletins, and submittals.
    • Any other job duties as assigned.
    Safety
    • Strict adherence to regulatory and industry safety standards, following the guidelines outlined in the SafetyIQ Manual, and fulfilling incident reporting requirements.
    • Coordinating safety resources to conduct site safety monitoring and address any nonconformities, actively participating in safety reviews to ensure a secure work environment.
    Quality
    • Acquire a comprehensive grasp of the quality standards mandated by contracts for both design and construction, and ensure strict adherence to these standards.
    • Initiate and oversee approval processes with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to resolve objections swiftly, facilitating the smooth transition from conceptualization to approved design and installation.
    • Engage in hands-on learning by shadowing the Project Superintendent, gaining valuable field experience.
    • Participate in essential pre-job and post-job site inspections.
    • Meticulously manage quality control procedures, encompassing preparatory meetings and final inspections.
    • Skillfully identify and troubleshoot on-site issues as they arise.
    • Take charge of developing a project punch list and ensure the timely completion of all listed tasks.
    Scheduling
    • Establish and consistently update project execution plans, encompassing budgetary considerations and Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules. These plans comprise detailed lists of targeted and actual activities, their respective durations, and sequencing logic, all meticulously designed to drive the successful attainment of project milestones.
    Budgeting
    • Acquire a proficient understanding of the project budget and promptly identify any deviations during project execution. Vigilantly oversee and report project costs.
    • Exhibit precision and diligence in cost management. Harmonize project activities to uphold progress within scheduled timelines and in accordance with the allocated budget.
    • Collaborate with project accountants to ensure accurate records of project materials on-hand, and maintain meticulous inventory accounting.
    Procurement
    • Develop, review, and effectively manage customer and subcontractor contracts.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in comprehending plans and specifications.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of all shop drawings and submittals, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications before submission to the design professional.
    • Participate in the selection of project components, such as panels, inverters, curbs, ductwork, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Oversee procurement and coordinate all necessary project resources.
    • Verify material lead times and efficiently manage delivery logistics.
    • Provide essential support for site logistics, including the acquisition of modular storage, temporary fencing, portable toilets, hand wash stations, disposal services, and other minor site requirements.
    • Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and compliance.
    Assistant Project Manager Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in construction management or a related field.
    • Completion of or willingness to obtain OSHA30 certification (covered by the company) within one year.
    • Possession of a valid driver's license. This role involves travel, including extended trips of a week or longer.
    • CA Department of Education Federal and State Background Clearances are mandatory.
    • Availability for on-site travel and supervision duties as required, including potential after-hours or weekend work.
    • Physical capability to climb ladders and stairs, comfortably lift 40+ pounds, and stand for extended periods.
    • Experience working in environments involving multiple stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in using the MS Office Suite, including MS Project, as well as web-based and smartphone applications. Knowledge of construction technology and management software, with preference for familiarity with Procore, Blue Beam, and BIM.
    • Prior experience in construction-related roles is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with utility interconnect agreements, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and knowledge of California Utility Regulatory agencies, including CPUC, CEC, and CALISO, is a plus.
    • Experience with the DSA (Division of the State Architect) approval process is preferred.
    • Knowledge of electrical theory, National Electric Code, and California Building and Electrical Codes is beneficial.
    • Comprehension of revenue-based accounting methods is advantageous.
