Description
The Test Engineer will design and develop test systems and software for performing in-process and final product testing.Starting as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush and eventually assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed.
Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets.
We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications.
Our Facility in Carson, CA is our Engineered Products Group location, which houses our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, Radiofrequency Departments.
Position requires developing test systems and software for performing in-process and final product testing using RF sweepers, RF power meters, vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers and other related RF equipment.
Designs automated tests systems including programming, fixtures and cabling required.Performs production tests involving the understanding of engineering theory and interpretation of results in a high reliability (space) environment.
Complex box-level assembly work, test set up and documentation, other tasks which require special care in handling or other procedures which require good dexterity and facility in use of a variety of hand tools.
Programming experience in C, C++ required. Python and LabVIEW experience desired.Familiar with RF measurement equipment and techniques
Must be able to read and interpret test instructions, assembly instructions, and engineering drawings (blueprints)
Minimum 2 years direct engineering experience, preferably within space or aerospace/defense test engineering industry
Participate in continuous process improvement activities
Knowledge of basic electricity and electronics safety precautions.
Proficiency with computer usage and knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:
~ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
