Summary:

The accounting manager overseesthe accountingdepartment functions to ensure efficiency and compliance. This may include supervising employees, maintaining financial records, and assisting with audits.

Essential Job Duties:

Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department
Manages accounts receivables and accounts payable
Prepares ad hoc reporting for all departments of Micro Matic
Monitoring and keeping track of questionable spending
Prepares expense reporting
Issues payments to suppliers
Responsible for sales tax reporting (3rd party software Avalara)
Approves cash disbursements by verifying check amounts against invoices, authorizing checks and wire transfers.
Ensures month end checklist is accounted for and followed
Creates new vendors in ERP system
Ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
Assists external auditors and provides required statements and information for the annual audit.
Reviews budget reports and assists other departments to prepare annual budgets.
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Complies with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversees Accounting operations, which include financial accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Supervises clerical accounting staff
Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations.
Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.
Oversees the system of internal controls over Accounting functions to minimize risk.
Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Performs these and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
Five years or more of related experience required.
Supervisory experience preferred
