- Perform engineering duties in planning and designing electrical systems for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and Pumping Stations.
- Production of contract documents including plans and specifications.
- Performs load and voltage drop calculations.
- Develops one-line diagrams and control schematics.
- Understands and can review short circuit, protective device and coordination studies.
- Prepares construction and design cost estimates.
- Develops project specific specifications.
- Responsible for project management, client interface and business development of future projects.
- Makes site visits during design and construction to inspect the electrical installation.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment electrical systems is a plus.
- Licensed EIT.
- Knowledge of SKM or ETAP.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 820.
- Experience with 480 V and below electrical equipment (MCC and motor controls, transformers, VFDs, etc) and calculations: Conduit fill, voltage drop, transformer sizing, Feeder/conductor sizing, panelboard and breaker sizing.
- Experience with wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, PLC design, plot plans, loop diagrams, I/O lists, P&IDs, cable/conduit schedules, electrical and instrumentation details.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Course work in power engineering.
