- Four years of experience as an instructor in the scheduling and registration process in a health care environment.
- Four years of specialized training in the area Hospital Information Management Systems; scheduling for ancillary testing, registration, and a working knowledge of Federal and third-party payer regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; computer skills including, but not limited to, power point presentations, excel spreadsheets, ability to make independent and sound decisions; detail oriented; self-directed; ability to work in a time-oriented environment including exposure to a variety of patient access settings.
- Able to work flexible hours, some rotation of shifts and weekends.
- Travel to offsite facilities. PowerPoint presentation required at the time of interview.

Education: Bachelor's degree or work equivalent
Experience / Qualifications:
The Patient Access Educator is responsible for: Preparing and maintaining the training content for new and existing scheduling/registration staff. Instructing and assisting in directing Patient Access staff on any new policies and procedures that include but are not limited to registration functions, medical necessity, insurance verification and other applications to include scheduling system. Conducting a minimum of quarterly in-service training for existing staff. Monthly Q & A rounding with Patient Access team members / departments. Working with patient access managers to correct errors and educate staff. Managing STIS for system upgrades.
