    Organizational OverviewA new Global Materials Planning Team is being developed at Lilly to effectively manage critical and common raw materials across multiple manufacturing sites around the world from an aggregated supply chain perspective.

    This will ensure a standard approach and focused vendor partnership with one Lilly voice.

    The scope of the team is to establish and execute centralized methodologies around key categories to enable effective coordination, risk mitigation and decision making.

    This team will also be integrated into the supplier management and risk processes, to include ownership of an operational rhythm, supplier performance and contract management.


    Responsibilities:
    The Associate Director
    • Global Materials Planning
    • Central Lead is responsible for supporting the development of this new team by leading overall framework development and implementation across platforms, conducting strategic segmentation analysis, implementing validated global dashboards, and aligning improvement activities for critical business platforms.
    The role is required to enable global visibility to supply status and identifying supply chain programs and/or policies to improve long term availability.


    Detailed job responsibilities:


    Global Materials Framework DevelopmentDrive the development and execution global materials process maturity framework and multi-stage roadmap in partnership with the process owner.

    Define and implement a segment-based approach for critical materials and suppliers project to set the foundation of future operating models.

    Collaborate with procurement in enhancing supplier relationship framework.
    Collaborate with supply chain risk teams and imbed connection in key processes.
    Identify and standardize system parameter guidelines, and key process inputs to optimize service, risk mitigation and inventory strategies.
    Support overall Global Materials roadmap development and execution.
    Identify supply chain policy gaps and strategies to standardize against best-in-class methods.
    Collaborate with stakeholders to implement contingency plans for potential supply chain disruptions across platforms.

    Subject Matter ExpertCollaborate with technology teams to provide system requirements as well as identify and manage impacts to platforms and suppliers.

    Support teams in development of aggregated planning formats and tools to support S&OP processes, align with adjacent process owners.
    Establish standards for managing inventory levels to balance production requirements with working capital objectives. Drive continuous improvement program across platforms to improve overall material management cost. Support negotiations with external partners to establish collaboration agreements. Review terms and conditions and establish guidelines for contract management throughout contract lifecycle. Responsible to perform tasks in accordance with the requirements in the applicable global quality standards and regulations.
    Define process for aligning strategic plans and lead pilot for specific categories.

    Analytics & reporting Establish key metrics/KPI's dashboards, governance, and communication plan aligned to key categories and overall platforms to measure the effectiveness of materials planning processes.

    Analyze data and identify cross-platform trends on materials planning performance. Identify potential risks in the overall materials planning process and implement strategies to mitigate risks. Lead project to align strategic plans end to end for specific categories.


    Basic Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management, or other related science. Master's degree preferred.

    Minimum 7 years of experience (10+ years preferred) in supply chain planning, manufacturing, or sourcing/procurement on a global scale, preferably in a regulated industry.

    Minimum 5 years of experience in materials planning or supply chain optimization.
    Minimum of 3 years Project/Business Process Management experience.

    Proven experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in materials planning software Additional Skills/Preferences:
    Manufacturing/supply planning and S&OP experience focused on multi-site supply optimization.
    Proven ability to strategically develop and implement cross functional governance models.

    Experience in balancing operational projects and strategic initiatives with a demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members and deliver results.

    Prior experience leading business process management and improvement, certification preferred.
    Proven analytical capabilities targeted at planning/inventory models and metrics.
    Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships across all levels in the organization.
    Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements Strong understanding of global supplier relationship and performance management frameworks.
    Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty. Demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize problems, develop, and implement solutions.
    Proven ability to define and drive inventory health and optimization strategies.
    Proficient in managing and influencing supplier contract terms to support performance compliance and strategic priorities.
    Strong written and oral communication skills and experienced presentation preparation and delivery skillsProficient in Power BI or equivalentSupply Chain Knowledge
    • APICS/ASCM certification preferred.

    Prior experience in supplier risk management program integration and optimizationPrior experience leading a large change management scope, change management training or certification preferred.
