Description

Coral Desert Rehabilitation looking for a highly competent, highly experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to join our team.

Purpose:
Provide the highest quality of care in a manner that protects and promotes resident rights, dignity, and health.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads daily operations for the nursing department.
Sets and tracks departmental goals and objectives.
Develops and implements nursing policies and procedures.
Supervises, trains, and evaluates nursing staff.
Hires and onboards new nurses.
Sets the nursing schedule.
Provides direct patient care when necessary.
Investigates patient complaints.
Collaborates with doctors and executives.
Oversees the department's budget.
Maintains a stocked inventory.
Designs and manages continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
Ensures that all guidelines, regulations, and standards are followed.
Uses popular software, including medical database, research, diagnosis, billing, scheduling, and telemedicine software.
Collaborates with physicians and administrators across departments and seniority levels.

Requirements and Qualifications:
RN with required state licensure.
Ability to organize workflow, respond to emergencies and note detail.
Ability to comply with the Patient Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities.
Ability to comply with Company and departmental safety policies and procedures.
Ability to read and write the English language.
Experience in post-acute and/or long term geriatric nursing care.
Experience in supervision.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.

Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.

Physical Capacities:
(With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to endure bending, squatting, twisting and reaching.

Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Environmental Conditions:
Inside work, normal temperatures, some noise, occasional fumes/odors, chemical exposure and potential exposure to blood-born pathogens.
