    Job Overview:

    Our client is looking for an Human Resources Generalist to support various functions including the onboarding process, benefits administration, employee relations, workers compensation, leave of absences, compliance, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role will be based in Charleston, South Carolina, US and is an on-site role.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assignments. This may include anti-harassment training, professional licensure/education, aptitude exams, and certifications.
    • Perform tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale; and training and development.
    • Interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competences required for openings.
    • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • Implements and facilitates new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Provide assistance and guidance to management and employees when complex, specialized, and confidential questions and issues arise.
    • Facilitate with immigration vendor and internal employees as needed.
    • Responds to claims for Unemployment Compensation.
    • Creates, maintains, and updates employee records to ensure compliance and confidentiality.
    • Ensures new hires are reflected correctly in HRIS systems, and offboarding is updated correctly and timely.
    • Managing and coordinating all paid and unpaid leave of absences for all team members including FMLA, Non-FMLA, Workers' Compensation, PTO, etc.
    • Managing and coordinating Workers' Compensation processes.
    • Conducts Exit interviews.
    • Back-up to payroll

    Skills and Qualification:

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
    • 6 -10 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree completion.
    • 3-5 years of human resources management experience preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
    • Proficient with benefits administration including leave of absence, COBRA, 401k, FMLA.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
