    Job Description

    Dewberry is searching for a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to become a part of the commissioning team, offering field mechanical inspection and process management support for local and regional projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Over 10 years of experience in Mechanical System Installation and troubleshooting
    • Commissioning experience in mechanical systems is essential
    • Preferred certification in commissioning processes or ability to obtain within 6 months
    • Test and Balance expertise necessary with experience as a bonus
    • Understanding of basic electrical installations is advantageous

    Required Skills & Required Experience

    • Experience in mechanical system installation and the ability to assess installations to detect issues
    • Knowledge of HVAC operation sequences and capability to conduct field tests
    • Proficiency in adjusting and testing HVAC control systems, e.g., JCI, Trane, Automated Logic, Siemens, etc.
    • Familiarity with HVAC systems such as Chillers, Boilers, Cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHU, RTU, ERU, VAVs, and more
    • Understanding of air and water test balance processes to identify and address issues
    • Field experience in visiting client sites to gather necessary data
    • Proficiency in OSHA safety requirements and mechanical code
    • Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications
    • Generate field summary reports from collected data
    • Safely work around electrical systems up to 600 volts
    • Effective communication with clients, contractors, and designers
    • Demonstrate abstract reasoning, assertiveness, and attention to detail
    • Flexibility to work varied hours and in different environments
    • Physical capabilities for climbing, lifting, and operating equipment
    • Work autonomously with minimal supervision
    • Ability to Travel approximately 40% of the time
