    Description

    Our company's Building Engineering Market is in need of a skilled Commissioning Technician/Authority to join our team. This role can be based out of any of our Gresham Smith offices.

    The main role is to evaluate the structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in facilities with a strong focus on efficiency and quality.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare project-specific commissioning scope of services and assist in budgeting.
    • Conduct peer reviews of documents for constructability and commission-ability.
    • Develop commissioning plans including pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests.
    • Review contractor submittals to ensure compliance with contract documents.
    • Schedule and coordinate commissioning site visits and project deliverables.
    • Travel to project sites to perform commissioning activities safely and professionally.
    • Compose and issue detailed commissioning site visit reports.
    • Analyze performance trends and review TAB reports.
    • Review training and O&M materials provided by contractors.
    • Prepare comprehensive final commissioning reports for projects.
    • Engage in additional commissioning activities as needed.
    • Review mechanical sequences of operations and details for optimal performance.
    • Perform Construction Administration for design projects.
    • Conduct due diligence studies on existing buildings.
    • Participate in contract bidding and administration processes.
    • Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, and project team members.
    • Assist in resolving complex problems related to design and coordination requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • HS Diploma or Degree required.
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience working for a mechanical contractor with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to travel regularly on a flexible schedule.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical system installation and building automation system interface.
    • Aptitude for training others in the above activities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CxA certification preferred or willing to obtain.
    • Additional certifications and training are advantageous.
