- Drives and owns the synergy of technology insertions, Cost Out (Design HDW related and apply LEAN based processes) while working closely with internal and external customers , and cross functional teams to ensure addressing design related technology-based trade off studies related to the cross-sectional development of the engine architecture , aligned to sound return of investments.
- Collaborate with the broader large military engineering section and cross-functional teams, including program/projects , CIP, etc. to engage, navigate and collectively develop and innovative advanced technology-based design concepts, while meeting aggressive engine product line requirements.
- The Systems Tech leader will ensure thorough compiling and documenting of resulting invention disclosures to protect GE technology and intellectual property rights of the company. Ensure the timely and high-quality execution of the required systems-based analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements. Establish cadence towards monitoring and communicating project health, business issues and significant developments to leadership. Develop proactive action plans to anticipate challenges and identify sustainable mitigations. Apply the usage of proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with GE engineering policies and procedures
- Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability. Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing. Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams. Manages interface between components and execution organizations.
Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system. - Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
- Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university or college
- Ph.D. degree in mechanical, or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university.

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, synergy amongst the core turbomachinery disciplines aligned to technology enhancements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.Impacts the teams ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
