SUMMARY


The Maintenance Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and reliability of all safety relief devices within our operations.

This includes but is not limited to conventional safety relief valves, pilot-operating valves, vacuum vent breakers, rupture discs, etc.

The specialist will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues, optimizing maintenance schedules, and implementing improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and safety of our equipment.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as program administrator for all safety relief valves and related safety devices and equipment at the Lake Charles South facility.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance personnel for safety relief valves and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, turnaround planning, capital projects, and reliability engineering teams to plan and execute repairs, overhauls, and upgrades of safety relief devices.
  • Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of safety relief equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans and inspection schedules for safety relief devices.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to equipment condition, maintenance activities, and spare parts inventory.
  • Develop, maintain, and perform quality control measures to ensure that safety relief devices and equipment meet the required quality standards during the various stages of manufacturing, installation, and maintenance.
  • Lead investigations related to equipment failures and drive corrective action to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in process safety management.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Fully supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.
  • Perform duties in a manner that protects personal safety as well as the safety of others.
  • Promptly report Safety, Health or Environmental issues or incidents to management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a minimum of 10 years of handson experience with safety relief equipment in the chemical manufacturing industry; preferably petrochemical, LNG, or petroleum refinery.
  • Indepth knowledge of industry maintenance best practices for safety relief equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Applications, SAP, and APM (Meridium)
  • Exhibit individual initiative and constantly seek continuous improvement.
  • Effective Leadership skills including effective conflict resolution and driving change.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to make datadriven decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Safetyconscious with knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of

the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including

safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require

usage of stairs and elevators. Inside exposure includes but not limited to A/C 60% of the time. Outside

exposure includes but not limited to weather, fumes, and dust 40% of the time. May be exposed to

slippery, rocky, uneven surface of floor/ground.
