    Description

    Purpose:

    The Kentucky Public Health AmeriCorps is a grant program aimed at training individuals as community health workers for local health departments in Kentucky.

    The role of the Program Director involves ensuring compliance with AmeriCorps terms and conditions, program evaluation, fiscal management, and data management, with support from the Kentucky Health Departments Association, Inc. (KHDA) and Serve Kentucky.



    Position Title:
    Kentucky Public Health AmeriCorps Program Director


    Work Location:
    Frankfort, Kentucky (hybrid work from home)


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with the KHDA Executive Director and the Member Coordinator on program operations.
    • Implement AmeriCorps grant provisions.
    • Establish program structure and policy based on the current grant award.
    • Manage the approved budget.
    • Prepare grant requests.
    • Coordinate program site applications, site interviews, and position allocations.
    • Manage member enrollments and exits.
    • Create and update staff and member job descriptions and evaluations.
    • Conduct ongoing program evaluation.
    • Develop grant activity reporting procedures.
    • Create and maintain program documents.
    • Oversee member records (HR, background checks, timekeeping, reports).
    • Provide training for members and site supervisors.

    **Other Conditions:**
    • Travel required for program support and training.
    • Driver's license mandatory.

    KHDA Executive Director.

    Time Commitment:
    Full-time position (40 hours/week). Grant-funded program with contract based on grants.


    Qualifications:
    You must be a United States citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident. A bachelor's degree is required, and experience in volunteer work, non-profits, grant management, or public health is preferred.


    Physical Demands:

    The Program Director must have the physical and mental stamina to perform service tasks effectively throughout the workday.

    While the role is primarily office-based, frequent travel to local health departments is expected.



    Work Environment:

    The work environment involves characteristics encountered while serving as an AmeriCorps staff member.



    Support Provided:
    AmeriCorps training and mileage reimbursement.

    $65, $75,000.00 per year
