    Description

    The Program Director at YMCA of Central Kentucky, Whitaker Family YMCA works closely with the Associate Executive Director to manage the Youth and Family Engagement Programs. You'll be the go-to person for providing excellent customer service, coordinating program activities, and ensuring a top-notch experience for members and participants. If you're into sports, games, and community events, this role is right up your alley! Check out the details below:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Offer superior customer service to all members and participants, making them feel valued and welcomed.
    • Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers to deliver successful YMCA programs.
    • Maintain a safe and clean program environment for everyone's enjoyment.
    • Take the lead in overseeing Kids Corner, Sports Skills Clinics, and Martial Arts programs.
    • Organize various group activities, classes, and family engagement programs.

    Qualifications

    This role calls for strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and a passion for working with youth and families. Knowledge of youth development, sports, and recreational activities is a must. Plus, being CPR certified is a bonus!

    Education/Experience

    • College Education preferred
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in working with youth, teens, or families
    • Experience in YMCA programs is desirable

    Respond effectively to inquiries and complaints, maintain positive relationships, and motivate others into action.

    Mathematical Skills:
    Perform basic mathematical operations and interpret data for decision-making.

    Reasoning Skills:
    Analyze and interpret complex information and draw valid conclusions for effective planning.

    Office and Computer Skills:
    Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, able to operate standard office equipment and learn new software programs.

    Physical Demands
    Handle physical tasks like lifting, moving objects, and being on your feet frequently.

    Work Environment
    Adapt to different work settings and handle occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
