- Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair
- Responds to emergency requests for repair services and acts as the primary point of contact for all building issues (e.g. climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs, etc.); perform immediate cleaning duties as necessary
- Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.)
- Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.)
- Prepares surfaces and paint various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, refrigerators, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable environment using various painting equipment and related tools
- Makes residential units ready for new move-ins (e.g. dismantles and installs furniture, hangs pictures and shelves, and cleans rooms, hallways, and living spaces)
- Ensures work conducted complies with all environmental, health and safety, standards established by federal, states, county and city laws, ordinances and regulations, and Interfaith policies and procedures
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, stairways, parking lots, and other work areas as necessary
- Orders parts and maintain required documents
- Maintains storage and equipment in designated areas in a neat and orderly manner
- Promptly notifies supervisor (as well as other appropriate staff) of any problematic facilities issues, or any other problems that arise
- Participates in all staff meetings and trainings
- Ensures that properties always meet standards to pass Federal, State, County, and Local inspections
- Performs additional duties as assigned
