    Description

    With general direction, performs a variety of moderately complex, technical accounting tasks related to preparing, maintaining and reviewing financial reports and records.


    • Operate Business Office cashiering counter for Cato Campus. Summarize and reconcile receipts processed daily for the campus via the Daily Deposit Summary.
    • Complies and reconcile Daily Deposit Summary Report for each CPCC Campus locations.
    • Communicate with the North Carolina Community College System Office regarding State Deposits and Certification notification to resolve discrepancies.
    • Monitors activity in assigned accounts; audits specified accounts for accuracy; creates accounts as requested.
    • Balances and reconciles assigned accounts and/or funds; researches and reconciles any problems or discrepancies.
    • Gathers and summarizes data; conducts research and analyzes data.
    • Prepares various journal entries; makes recommendations regarding journal entries.
    • Reviews financial forms and records; researches and resolves discrepancies.
    • Review and transmit Federal Financial Aid awards and Scholarship to student's accounts.
    • Process Financial Aid Refunds and Student Refunds for student with credit balances in active term.
    • Reconcile Due to and Due from Accounts after Financial Aid awards are processed.
    • Process cash receipts and ACH Bank Transfers from various areas within the college.
    • Process and receipt Full Time and Part Time Refund of payroll monthly.
    • Provides information and responds to inquiries; relating to the budget for Campus Campus Business Office and other financial information.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Associate degree in accounting or closely related field and two years of relative work experience OR;

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related fieldKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:


    • Knowledge of standard business practices and accounting principles
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to communicate financial information with a variety of people at all levels of an organization
    • Ability to maintain, review and analyze financial reports and statements
    • Excellent customer service skills, knowledge of cash handling practices
    • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, adapting to changing priorities and situations, and follow-through on the completion of assignments

    Working Conditions:
    Typical office environment; prolonged use of a video display terminal and keyboard; infrequent traveling to other buildings on campus or to other campuses
