The Accounting Specialist is responsible for day-to-day transactions of accounts payable and accounts receivable with minimal direction, basic activities of month, quarter, year-end closing and reporting, administrative tasks, and other tasks assigned by Manager of Finance and Accounting.
Please note:
this role is an on-site (Northlake area of Charlotte, NC) role Monday-Friday each week and does not include a hybrid or remote work opportunity.
Verify accuracy of payment requests received from other departments.Process invoices and employee reimbursements in compliant with internal policies and ensure timely payments.
Allocate costs to cost centers or related parties as instructed.
Investigate discrepancies and collaborate with the vendors and other departments to solve the issue.
Create and send AR invoices and oversee collections.
Enter receipts into the system.
Monitor aging of AR invoices, reach out to customers, and reconcile accounts.
Analyze and solve discrepancies.
Prepares journal entries and recurring entries, reconcile accounts, and analyze discrepancies/variance for month-end closing.
Assist with external and internal audit process.
Collaborate with Tax Department.
Create and generate financial information as requested.
Support group finance and group insurance activities.
Files, maintains, and distributes documents, records, and reports.
Perform administrative tasks.
Support other team members.
Monitor efficiency of work process and propose improvements.
Other tasks are assigned by Manager of Finance and Accounting.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Experience:
3+ years of experience in AP, AR, and month-end closing is required.
Basic knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS is preferred.
Microsoft Excel skills:
formula such as VLOOKUP, sumif and pivot tables.
SAP experience is preferred.
Education:
Associate Degree in Accounting or related field is required. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $72,300.
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
