THE POSITION:


DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


As a Custodial Worker 1, you are assigned to work in areas as directed by a manager or a supervisor.

You perform a variety of cleaning and housekeeping tasks including mopping and dusting, operating manual and mechanical equipment properly by following the operating instructions, polishing furniture, washing walls, replenishing supplies, emptying and cleaning trash receptacles, and moving and lifting furniture and equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment, 37.5hour work week
  • Work hours are 3 positions available on the 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM shift; 1 position available on the 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM shift; all shifts come with a with a 30minute lunch, and all shifts are a rotating schedule, Sunday through Saturday with various off days. These positions work rotating weekends and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • There are no minimum experience and training requirements for these positions.

Additional Requirement:


  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):


  • This position is location in South Mountain, Franklin County. Pennsylvania. You must be willing to work in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
  • Experience as a custodial worker, janitor, or cleaning person. (i.e.) cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, cleaning office or public areas. mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, buffing, etc.
  • Custodial or housekeeping work experience in the following areas or settings: hospital; nursing home; correctional facility; fast food or restaurant; cafeteria; school.
  • Work experience collecting and disposing infectious waste in proper storage areas.
  • Work experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways.
  • Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents.
  • Work experience using a manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors.
  • Experience operating floor scrubbing machine, use of ladders to clean high areas, proper handling of cleaning chemicals, interacting with patients/residents, snow removal from walkways and entrances, changing light bulbs, cleaning furniture, and mopping (wet or dry mop), scrubbing.

Legal Requirements:


  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
