    Job Posting for a Restaurant General Manager

    Role Overview: As a Restaurant General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all beverage-related operations at our establishment. Your expertise in Wine and Spirits will be crucial in collaborating with the beverage team to develop an exceptional Wine and Cocktail program. Additionally, you will support the General Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising restaurant operations, while also actively engaging with guests to gather valuable feedback.

    Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000, with evening shifts required.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Recruit, interview, hire, and train food & beverage staff.
    • Create a comprehensive beverage training program for new team members.
    • Maintain up-to-date training materials to align with changes in the beverage program.
    • Interact with customers to enhance loyalty and address any concerns effectively.
    • Ensure adherence to all current licenses, including those related to health, safety, and liquor.
    • Implement and enforce food control and safety regulations among staff members.
    • Collaborate in crafting staff schedules based on projected customer volume.
    • Develop innovative Wine and Cocktail programs and beverage menus.
    • Analyze liquor costs against sales to maximize bar profitability.
    • Ensure accurate serving of wines in suitable temperature and glassware.
    • Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, making necessary adjustments.
    • Work closely with liquor vendors on promotions and new product offerings.
    • Manage beverage storage areas to uphold cleanliness and appropriate stock levels.
    • Provide training to wait staff on available wine selections.
    • Educate guests on the various wine options available.
    • Organize special events such as wine dinners and tastings.
    • Monitor and uphold standards for food handling, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
    • Supervise beverage ordering and controls in alignment with the General Manager.
    • Introduce positive staff accountability measures and constructive feedback.
    • Coordinate with vendors, oversee inventory supplies, and manage stock levels effectively.
    • Ensure accuracy in staff labor tracking and promptly rectify any errors.
    • Assist in maintaining the Point of Sales System and any potential system upgrades.
    • Contribute to budget management and exhibit proficiency in understanding financial reports.
    • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational processes and service standards.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education:
    • College degree or relevant work experience equivalent.
    • BASSET certification mandatory; Additional steps required for inclusion in Liquor License regulations.
    • Sommelier certification at level 1 minimum; higher levels preferred.

    Experience:
    • 3-5 years experience in Bar Management, Beverage Management, Sommelier, or similar roles within upscale dining settings.
    • Proficiency in Micros system.
    • Expertise in fine dining, wines, and leadership in service.

    Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Maintain high grooming standards.
    • Effective team player with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in basic arithmetic calculations.
    • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours daily.
    • Capable of bending, stooping, squatting, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Comfortable with pushing and pulling items up to 50 pounds.
