- Prepare and develop drawings, models, images, materials, mood boards, and other documents relating to the design.
- Serve as primary liaison with clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction.
- Actively manage project budgets, schedules, and programs, project communication and documentation, office administrative tasks, and project team assignments.
- Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts.
- Be responsible for the development of the design and the project with input from the Principal in Charge and/or the Design Leader for key project stages.
- Develop project Work Plans (schedule, budget, cartoon set) for project success.
- Determine and manage coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
- 8+ years of professional experience designing and managing hospitality interior projects
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent
- Strong creative design and drawing skills as well as graphic and oral presentation skills
- Intimate familiarity with the interior design process and deliverables required
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office suite
- The ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks
- Ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices
- Ability to manage teams
- NCIDQ certification
- Interest in sustainable building design
- Familiarity with Designer Pages Pro – FFE specification software

DLR Group's Hospitality sector has an opening for a Interior Designer/Project Manager. This role could be located in either our Chicago or Minneapolis offices. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.

Position Summary
As a Interior Designer/Project Manager at DLR Group, you will be responsible for leading Interior Design projects on budget and schedule while delivering design excellence. You will be responsible for collaborating on the design of complex projects from programming through construction administration on projects ranging in size and complexity while providing hands-on supervision to design staff during all phases. You will partner with internal partner disciplines, vendors, and consultants as needed. Additionally, you will develop fees and schedules for proposals, and occasionally interview in front of clients to win work.
