    Overview

    When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    The position is responsible for fulfilling company goals and objectives through design and implementation of systems which influence more than one area and involves on-going systems support.

    The position is responsible for one or more small or intermediate size projects that include obtaining business requirements, construction, testing and implementation following system development life cycle techniques.

    Position provides formalized continuing work, direction, and leadership to the project team(s).
    Functional Requirements

    AP/AR/General Finance/Cost Accounting
    M3CE technology experience a plus
    BODs, MEC, DataFlow
    Business Requirements
    Facilitating requirements gathering workshop
    Functional requirements
    Non-functional requirements
    User requirements
    Identifying and documenting requirements risks
    Creating requirements plan to feed into project plan
    Reporting on requirements progress as input to project status report
    Preparing and conducting requirements presentation for project owners
    Walkthroughs and sign-offs of requirements package
    Design
    Creating and documenting design solution
    Conducting design walkthroughs
    Confirming business objectives
    Reviewing design document and ensuring requirements are met
    Determine best technologies to use Web, Java, REST APIs, SQL, etc. using best practice methodologies.
    Construction
    Creating project plan
    Creating business architecture
    Creating system or application architecture with operations (Java n Tier technologies, iSeries interfacing, web application deployments.
    Ability to provide technical specification to support legacy and contemporary technologies.
    Providing weekly project status reports
    Testing
    Reviewing test strategy, test plans and test cases to ensure requirements are met
    Creating test strategy, test plan or test cases
    Supporting QA and testing team
    Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT)
    Evaluate testing
    Tracking and managing defects with system
    Implementation

    Reviewing defects and working with client to determine:
    Priority of fix
    Manual work around
    Communications with Help Desk, user calls or IT staff.
    Coordinates security clearance with system owners.
    Provides technical assistance and direction to IT Technical Staff in all phases
    Attends IS internal meetings to discuss short and long-term department goals and to resolve technical and procedural issues.
    Conducting regular communication with functional stakeholders to prioritize projects and workstream; enforce usage of IPR system
    Position may be responsible for managing a team of people.
    Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
    Four-year degree or equivalent experience in a field of study such as computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, etc.
    Position requires between 8-10 years of information systems experience.
    Work requires the application of a variety of procedures, policies, and/or precedents used in combination. Frequently, the application of multiple, technical activities are employed; thus, analytic ability and inductive thinking are required.

    Ability to address constant changes in technology and software, resulting in the redesign of existing systems and/or the need to developing new ones.
