    Pizza Topping Manager

    Olympia Food Industries is looking to hire a manager for our new industrial pizza topping department & line. This is a 10-hour shift running from 6:00am to 5:00pm, regularly from Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour break. This is a salary position which starting pay reflects $28.85 an hour, or 75,000.00 a year. This starting pay may be negotiable dependent on applicant's knowledge, experience, resume & reference. Olympia Food Industries is a family-owned company which produces Greek & ethnic meats, flatbreads, sauces, & other products for restaurants & venues. The facility is an SQF Level 2 food processing facility with a USDA office on site. Industrial food processing experience is required.

    Summary

    The Primary Focus of this position is the hands-on active management of the department, crew, documentations, ingredients, materials, product, procedures from on the production room floor. The secondary focus is to always be searching & striving for a higher efficiency & yield while maintaining product quality. The Pizza Manager is also expected to work together with other heads of departments to maintain clean & safe working conditions throughout the facility.

    Skills & Requirements

    Ø High School Diploma or GED

    Ø Able to work overtime and irregular hours when necessary

    Ø Arithmetic & Numbers knowledge & understanding.

    Ø Ability to perform basic laboratory tests skills.

    Ø Computer knowledge & experience

    Ø Knowledge & experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software.

    Ø Knowledge & experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software.

    Ø Knowledge & experience with Microsoft software such as Excel, Outlook, & Word

    Ø Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

    Ø Knowledge and experience with a pallet jack, both manual & automated

    Ø Employee must be able to see clearly, both near & far, with or without the assistance of glasses.

    Ø Employee must be able to smell and taste to be able to provide product feedback for consideration.

    Ø Employee must be able to use hands and fingers to use and feel objects, tools, controls, and product.

    Ø Employee must be able to reach with hands and arms.

    Ø Employee must be able to comfortably balance, climb, crouch, pull, and push

    Ø Employee must be able to stand for long periods of time.

    Ø Clear oral & legible written communication skills in English.

    Ø Appropriate interpersonal interactions to work effectively & efficiently with co-workers to meet mutual goals.

    Ø Adaptive to disruptive circumstances related to either production or personnel

    Ø Able to maintain a positive work environment.

    Tasks & Duties

    Ø Directly Observe all activities of the department, production, ingredients, and materials in person

    Ø Directly train & manage all crew members of the department

    Ø Efficiently monitor & utilize ingredients & materials

    Ø Effectively manage & schedule crewmembers and the department

    Ø Support crew & operations of other departments if & when possible

    Ø Select random product sample at beginning, middle, and end of productions run for lab analysis.

    Ø Resolve & report any unsafe or hazardous work conditions.

    Ø Resolve & report any unsafe or malicious behavior.

    Ø Preform daily pre-ops checks of production room, equipment, tools, utensils, & packaging area & delegate any follow up cleaning

    Ø Preform any changeover checks of production room, equipment, tools, utensils, & packaging area & delegate any follow up cleaning

    Ø Preform sauce P.H. check

    Ø Preform sauce R.I. check

    Ø Preform weight checks after each application stage and final cartooned weight every 30 minutes

    Ø Preform metal detector check every hour

    Ø Preform Lockout & Tagout as required

    Ø Preform other duties as assigned

    Ø Maintain a high level of awareness regarding product & personnel safety & satiation

    Ø Ensure food safety & sanitation conditions, guidelines & practices are always being met by all crew members

    Ø Ensure reliable record keeping regarding ingredients, materials, use, and temperatures

    Ø Ensure that wash station is stocked & supplied with paper towels & soap.

    Ø Enforce all Olympia Food's GMPs, rules, & regulations

    Ø Enforce Quality Assurance's Color Code System

    Ø Enforce HACCP & SQF guidelines

    Ø Document all metal detector activity

    Ø Complete all paperwork & forms in a punctual & timely manner.

    Ø Communicate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, & Sanitation departments whenever necessary

    Ø Clean & sanitize any item, tool, or utensil used in the production room that is found unsanitary

    Work Environment

    Ø Temperature of the Pizza Toping Line Production Room is 40°ree;. Dress appropriately.

    Ø There are variable temperatures throughout the facility ranging from -10°ree; to 80°ree;.

    Ø The employee will be working near moving mechanical parts.

    Ø This job is performed in a generally clean environment.

    Ø Maintenance & Quality Assurance departments stand above Production, Sanitation, & Warehousing departments. It is mandatory to follow the directions of their managers & supervisors.

    Ø Food industry regulations prevent Olympia Foods, or any other food processing facility, from hiring anybody with any exposed graphed jewelry or exposed permanent piercings.

    Restrictions

    Ø Avoid disposing of any debris, fats, oils, grease down the floor drains. Collect waste and dispose of it in the appropriate bin or receptacle.

    Ø With the exceptions of glasses, firmly secure wedding bands, & double clasp medical bracelets, all jewelry is strictly prohibited in every work area.

    Ø Mobile phones are strictly prohibited on any of the processing or work floors.
