Northrop Grumman is seeking a Linux Engineer to join our Submarine Trainer Development Team supporting the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI.
You will work with a dedicated team on the latest generation Intel based servers, Linux cluster configurations and virtualization architectures including Red Hat KVM.
The responsibilities for this position are to assist with design, develop, install, and integrate submarine training systems. Assist - Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, system services, application software and system management tools for Linux systems, both natively and within virtual machinesWork with team to monitor and test applications, virtual machines, and containers to identify issues with installation and performance.
Troubleshoot Information Technology (IT) Systems to diagnose and suggest/implement potential solutions.
Support physical hardware installation of IT computing equipment and cabling at both local and remote sites.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other related field and 2 years experience or Masters degree. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux based systems.
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Active Security Clearance

Red Hat KVM, VMware, libvirt/virsh)
Experience with Cisco switch/router configuration development and deployment
Experience with System Build Automation Tools (Linux kickstart, Puppet, Windows Deployment Server (WDS))
Networking knowledge (OSI Network Layers, TCP/IP, DHCP)
Computer/Electronics Hardware knowledge
Intel server configurations
