    PROGRAM SUPERVISOR

    FAMILY RECLAIM SERVICES (FRS)

    HAYWARD OFFICE

    Family Reclaim Services (FRS) provides specialized case management services for families whose children are living at home with their parent or guardian while under the supervision of the Juvenile Courts through

    Children and Family Services (CFS) department of the Alameda County Social Services Agency. The case management services are designed to help families reduce the risk of entry into the foster care system due to child abuse or neglect after the close of their dependency case.

    Job summary:

    Reporting to the Director of Social Services Programs, the Program Supervisor will be the direct supervisor to a team of Family Advocates. Supervision will be accomplished through weekly group and/or individual supervision, crisis management, training, and providing other supportive services to staff. Supervisors also accompany staff on face-to-face visits and assist with assessments, family engagement, and/or community linkages.

    This is a unique position directly supervising up to 6 staff. The Family Advocates are an incredible group of parents who have personal experience successfully navigating the Alameda County Child Welfare system with their own families. Family Advocates utilize their lived experiences to engage and motivate families while using a family-centered approach.

    The Program Supervisor also helps to ensure that culturally sensitive and family friendly engagement practices permeate throughout the program. The FRS Program Supervisor have the privilege of supporting staff as they go through incredible personal and professional growth. Program Supervisors collaborate with staff to assess strengths and build professional skills to ensure Family Advocates are providing high quality services to families within Alameda County. FRS Program Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Social Services Programs and become deeply involved in program development and training for all staff.

    This position is perfect for a peer professional, case manager, or clinician with strong management experience, who is ready to step up to supervision. While it does represent a step away from direct service, the program's deep commitment to work-force development and support calls on many of the same skills that are required of a peer professional, case manager, or clinician serving our families.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide direct weekly individual supervision to all assigned staff
    • Responsible for facilitating reflective clinical group supervision weekly and providing ongoing feedback and training to staff.
    • Review, closely monitor, and provide weekly feedback to assigned staff; including in case management, committee work duties, agency/program deadlines, and contract deliverables
    • Coach and support staff in their initial and ongoing engagement with families working towards reunification and family stabilization after dependency case closure
    • Support staff to initiate and maintain ongoing collaboration with community service providers to monitor the family's service deliveries and access to linkages .
    • Assist with program data collection and compilation for various contract reporting
    • Maintain a variety of records, logs and files; electronically store and retrieve documents as required
    • Work closely with the Alameda County CFS staff to provide and receive feedback and evaluation of staff to ensure alignment and continuity of goals and practices are met
    • Coach staff to develop familiarity around available concrete supports and community resources within the client's community
    • Develop and maintain working relationships with community partners and partnering agencies
    • Develop and administer professionalism and work skill training as needed for staff
    • Coach staff to agency mission and value-driven competence.
    • Attend all necessary agency meetings including but not limited to Staff Meetings, Team Meetings, County Meetings, Committees, and Management Team Meetings.
    • Engage in Agency Cross training and skill development
    • Some schedule flexibility required for evening and weekend events
    • Perform all other duties as necessary for the good of the program and agency
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in social work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Psychology, or related field
    • A clinical background is preferred, but applicants with more than 5 years of experience working as a peer support professional will also be considered
    • Personal life experience navigating one of the following systems on behalf of a family member is preferred: child welfare, juvenile justice, criminal justice system, special education support, developmental services, and mental health.
    • Demonstrate strong supervision, management and leadership skills utilizing reflective practices and participatory goal setting required.
    • Understanding of Family-Driven services and Parent Advocacy, Wellness and Recovery, Substance Abuse and individual and family therapy.
    • Understanding of and ability to teach clinical case management under a family systems umbrella.
    • Ability to effectively complete simultaneous linked projects and demonstrate excellent time management
    • Demonstrate knowledge and skills to effectively deliver staff training and techniques for successful staff supervision and team building
    • Build relationships with public and community agencies to develop resources for services for families
    • Excellent written and communication skills.
    • Knowledge and experience with accessing community resources across age ranges.

    • Represent the agency on various committees; attend meetings ensuring the agency views are represented.
    • Ability to work in a demanding environment with frequent interruptions.
    • Training and experience in Motivational Interviewing preferred.
    • Experience working with parents, children, and/or families involved with the child welfare system required.
    • Ability to pass a background clearance and TB test
    • Valid California driver's license, a clear driving record, availability of personal vehicle, and personal vehicle insurance coverage.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in social work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Psychology from an accredited school or related field preferred

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a Part-time non-exempt position. Hours/schedule vary depending on program need. Weekend hours may also be required. Work hours subject to change, with supervisor's approval, to meet the business needs.

    Travel

    Travel to various worksites is required

    Work Authorization/Security Clearance
