    Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State Brandywine

    Penn State Brandywine is looking for a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Information Sciences and Technology to join the faculty starting in August 2024 or January 2025 for a 36-week limited-term position. This appointment can be renewable for subsequent periods.

    We are searching for a dynamic individual dedicated to providing top-notch instruction in a student-centered setting, with a focus on supporting students from diverse backgrounds in higher education and STEM fields.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 12 contact hours per semester, mainly focusing on cybersecurity courses, with possible additional assignments in information technology and programming courses. The courses will be in line with Penn State Brandywine's degree programs, particularly those related to Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations and Information Technology, and may involve various modes of delivery.

    Prior experience in college-level and online teaching is preferred, as well as a passion for working in a multidisciplinary environment.


    Responsibilities:

    • Teach 12 contact hours per week
    • Contribute to course, curriculum, and program development
    • Advise and guide students, oversee student projects, and offer career advice
    • Engage in campus, university, and community service activities
    • Participate in scholarly and professional development activities to stay updated in the field

    Requirements:

    Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Information Security, or a related field.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    Demonstrated experience in teaching areas such as data privacy, information security management, security analytics, cyber-defense, incident handling, and relevant legal aspects in cybersecurity and risk management. Knowledge of programming languages, secure programming, and operating systems is also valuable, along with the potential for research and publication.
