    JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    We are looking for a motivated Financial Specialist to join the Financial Reporting Department at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. The ARL/Penn State focuses on creating innovative solutions for national challenges in support of the Navy, DoD, and Intel communities' engineering and technology needs.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Manage post-award activities for programs/contracts.
    • Coordinate with Principal Investigators on financial matters.
    • Collaborate with technical staff for resource tracking.
    • Assist in contract closeout and financial reporting.

    This position will be filled at the Intermediate Professional or Advanced Professional level based on education and experience.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience in teamwork and adaptability.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Prior experience in government contracting or research administration.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and financial systems.
    • Completion of specific courses and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Active government security clearance is a plus.

    Working Location: On-site in State College, PA
