The Assistant Director of Agency Compensation will be responsible for overseeing the success of the team's day to day functions, providing financial oversight, and supporting the development of business intelligence tools.

This is a unique opportunity to support and collaborate with both P&C and Group Benefits business segments.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and build self-service capabilities, reports, and quality assurance processes with a variety of business intelligence technologies (e.g., Tableau, Tableau Prep, Excel) in support of the team's customers (field partners, National Client Practices, Payroll and Programs Alliance, etc.)
  • Identify process efficiencies in generating reporting with the intent to invest additional time on analytics.
  • Seek to understand financial and other quantitative data to develop analytical models.
  • Ownership of financial activities, conducting research when needed to offer a holistic view of each segment's compensation spend.
  • Responsibilities also include maintaining and supporting proper workflows, supporting compensation program requirements, regulatory oversight (audit, sox), and participating in the larger cross functional team initiatives to improve the areas efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years postgraduate work experience in the insurance industry or similar work experience in a functional area (e.g., Finance, Data & Analytics, Consulting, Operations) Ability to leverage advanced quantitative analysis and modeling skills a must. Skilled at working with large data sets, quickly detecting and resolving data related issues. Organizational and time management skills with the ability to adjust to changing priorities. Advanced Excel skills required; additional software skills include Tableau, SQL, Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) strongly preferred. Strategic, lateral thinking and ability to translate findings into pragmatic solutions. Critical reasoning and demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems through resourcefulness. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience with and comfort around senior management
Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market.

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role.

The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.

The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$93,920 - $140,880
