We're determined to make a difference and are proud to be an insurance company that goes well beyond coverages and policies. Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals - and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future.
We're in the business of helping people achieve amazing things by protecting the things that matter most. And you can help us when you join our team of underwriters. Underwriting is at the center of everything we do - and by joining us, you'll be on a team known throughout the industry for providing our customers with the insurance coverage they need to pursue their goals.
Your underwriting career here means collaboration, inclusivity, innovative thinking and so much more. Here, doing things the way they've always been done isn't a part of the job. Here, you'll be putting your creative insights to work with other underwriters and leaders, having a seat at the table with key decision makers. And you'll have any number of opportunities for your career to grow in whatever direction you choose.
This position will join a growing team of construction insurance professionals responsible for underwriting and marketing of specialty construction professional liability and environmental liability insurance coverages, including Contractor's Professional and Protective Indemnity (CPPI) and Owners Professional Protective Indemnity (OPPI) insurance. Working in a team environment and under the supervision of experienced underwriters, this position will collaborate to underwrite and service accounts, identify key construction agents/brokers, implement sales and marketing activities, and demonstrate a strong customer focus and understanding of Hartford Construction's appetite and strategy.
This position will be working with insurance brokers, construction companies, and construction project owners in the mid-Atlantic territory.

Sustaining The Hartford's unique workplace culture is vital to delivering on our purpose - underwriting human achievement - and continuously producing outstanding results. Our enterprise work model, which reflects a mix of in-office, hybrid, and fully remote roles, helps us attract, retain and develop the talent we need to achieve the company's strategic goals. This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
