    Job Description

    The Controls Engineer works on a range of projects to deliver automation systems across various industries. The role involves collaborating with clients to grasp their automation needs and craft effective control solutions. Strong project execution methods, established procedures, and sound judgment are key in this position. It is a leadership role demanding solid technical skills, effective communication, mentorship abilities, and the knack for building relationships with clients and vendors.

    • Deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards individually or as a team leader.
    • Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
    • Develop control system architectures, select components, create schematic diagrams, and program controllers.
    • Utilize controller programming languages like Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, among others.
    • Knowledge of standard programming languages such as VBA, .NET, and SQL for HMI/SCADA systems is preferred.
    • Experience with industrial networking for connecting control system components and instrumentation.

    Education:

    A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science is required.

    Experience:

    5+ years of experience with capabilities in industries like Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, Mining Life Sciences, Building Automation, Manufacturing, and Food & Beverage. Experience in designing electrical schematics under 480VAC desired.

    The Controls Engineer might also handle project management responsibilities, including developing project plans, work breakdown structures, budgets, task prioritization, and conflict resolution. They will oversee project operations for profitability and guide junior team members.
