    Union Driver

    Anchor Paper is a leading Midwest Distributor of Premium, Fine Printing Papers and Packaging products, serving Printers, Designers, Manufacturers, and More since 1923.

    Hours: 1st shift

    The Union Driver role is responsible for operating machinery and to drive a truck up to 58,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) with safety as the priority.

    This position requires loading and unloading of trucks with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

    Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

    Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.

    Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
    Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports daily.
    Secure cargo for transport, using straps, blocks, load bars, etc.
    Drive trucks through weigh stations to document weights and comply with state regulations.
    Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons to transport and deliver products or other materials.
    Operate equipment, such as telephones, to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
    Complete Machine Inspection Sheet for Electric Pallet Jack.

    Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary.

    Ability to operate machinery/equipment with safety as the priority.

    Requires telephone conversations, requires face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams, and others.

    Requires being exact or highly accurate, meeting strict deadlines, includes responsibility for the health and safety of others, requires working in a closed vehicle or equipment, requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.
