Yard Hostler**

STATUS:
Full-time**
FLSA Status: Non - Exempt

General Description:

Job requirements:

Move trailers to and from loading docks according to loading and unloading schedules
Perform pretrip and posttrip inspections of hostler truck and report any issues or defects to management
Maintain accurate records of all yard moves
Direct and assist other drivers when needed
Make sure all safety protocols are followed when operating equipment, including wearing proper protective gear
Ensure trailers are properly chocked or locked when parked, and report any maintenance or repair needs to management
Communicate with warehouse and logistics personnel to coordinate trailer movements and ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods
Perform other related duties as needed (and as qualified).

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Prior experience operating yard hostler equipment, such as a yard jockey or spotter truck
Navigate tight spaces and maneuver around obstacles
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fastpaced environment with changing priorities
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic computer skills, including ability to use warehouse management software and communication tools

Physical Requirements:

The Yard Hostler must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate equipment for extended periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Yard Hostler will primarily work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection is provided)
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving forklifts

Monday - Friday 5 am to 1:30 pm
