    TITLE:Forklift Operator

    DEPARTMENT: PECO Production

    REPORTS TO:Production Supervisor

    REVIEWED BY: General Manager

    STATUS: Full-time

    FLSA Status: Non - Exempt

    General Description:

    The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading and unloading trailers per schedule or as directed by the supervisor, stocking repair and build station with the necessary materials to maximize production, and maintain safety at all times which includes but not limited to the cleanliness of the work area and equipment

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Ability to communicate well with internal management. You must follow safe working practices, as instructed. Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision. Must be able to repeatedly pick up and set pallets on the ground.

    Job requirements:

    • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance record.
    • Check and maintain levels of fluids for the forklift; oil, water, and propane.
    • Blow out your forklift at the end of each shift with air, remove all the dirt and dust, clean any personal items off.
    • Ability and willingness to work in a fast paced environment with daily deadlines and goals.
    • Demonstrate ability and willingness to effectively complete variety of repetitive and high urgency activities at the same time with minimal supervision
    • Demonstrate ability and willingness to work with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation, proactively addressing problems and avoiding crisis whenever possible.
    • Quality Control - Pull garbage, cardboard, stickers and any other debris off pallets before being loaded to a customer.
    • Cardboard to be stacked onto a block pallet throughout the day and at the end of shift.
    • Communicates issues with production and/or shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods.
    • Identify and execute lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste.
    • Support pallet builders and repair team to maximize production through material stocking and eliminating "down time"
    • Keep count of all stacks of pallets removed from the tables and separate the stack count between the different specs and sizes.
    • End of shift; clean area, cardboard, garbage into containers, wood scrap into containers, tools back to tool crib
    • At the end of the day, confirm total pallets repaired and pulled from the tables.

      Education and Experience:
    • Prior pallet experience preferred.
    • Prior forklift operation required.
    • Single-Double fork attachment experience

    • The associate is required to frequently sit, stand, walk, and climb.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • The work environment consists of occasional extreme temperature shifts ranging from very cold to very hot.
    • Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection is provided)
    • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving forklifts

    Schedule: 1st and 2nd Shift Opening

    Monday - Friday

    Hours: 04:00 AM - 12:30 PM

    Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
