Receives, counts, locates and inspects food and non-food items.

This position performs general warehouse duties, such as filling orders, the loading and unloading of trucks, moves and locates product, assists with volunteer projects, maintain cleanliness of the distribution center by following food safety and company sanitation and cleanliness guidelines.

This position works in a warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure during the workday as well as frequent exposure to changes in temperatures.


Position Requirements/Essential Functions:


Essential Functions:


  • Accurately fills agency orders by utilizing the warehouse technology system to pull products from the warehouse location, scan the product and rack label and then load the cases on pallets for shipping or pickup.
  • Maintains accurate inventory levels by completing regular inventory counts with a goal of no less than 95% accuracy.
  • Ensures product is secured by ensuring product is safely stacked and shrink wrapped to the pallet.
  • Safely operates warehouse equipment and follows all company safety rules and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assists other departments within operations depending on the daily needs of the warehouse.
  • Maintains a high level of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the building including assigned racks, freezer, and cooler locations.
  • Completes daily warehouse sanitation logs and equipment checklist to maintain our warehouse equipment.
  • Adheres to and follows all AIB Food Safety practices and procedures.
  • Ensure NOVA transfer truck is checked and loaded.
  • Backfill for NOVA terminal when needed.
  • Backfill the Agency Mart Lead when needed.
  • Backfill for the Receiving team as needed.
  • Cross train to provide support as needed across Operations department.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:


  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in a warehouse or operations environment.
  • Experience with handheld scanning devices and warehouse technology.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, forklift, or pallet jack with a valid license.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends.

Other Skills, Abilities:


  • Ability to communicate with a variety of staff, volunteers, donors, and agency representatives.
  • Adheres to warehouse safety as regulated by OSHA and follow all AIB Food Safety Guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexible and a team player.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Physical activities involve standing for more than 75% of the work day.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. Area contains moving forklifts and pallet jacks.
