    Strategic Initiatives Intern (academic year , part-time) (IVP)

    Work Location:
    Lisle, IL - Intervarsity Press

    Schedule:
    Part time

    To advance the purpose of InterVarsity Press, this position will participate in a internship to learn various aspects of the publishing business and contribute to the fulfillment of tasks to further a variety of departmental goals.

    Start date: approximately September 10th

    Length: 30 weeks

    Hours: 10 weekly

    Pay: $18/hour

    Location: Lisle, IL (hybrid/remote work potential by agreement; IVP currently unable to employ remotely in California or Missouri)

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    Personal:

    • Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world
    Assist with assigned projects, depending upon departmental assignment.

    A sampling of tasks that the intern will likely participate in include:
    • Conducting and compiling surveys of target consumers to do market research with parents, pastors, and caregivers
    • Finding potential options for AI-driven tools that can assist IVP with content-mining
    • Reviewing our backlist and frontlist books to find suitable excerpts that can serve the above segments of consumers
    • Cataloguing excerpts in a searchable, accessible way for us to use on the IVPedia platform
    • Providing quality control for multimedia projects as they are developed, including audiobooks, video shorts, and mobile apps
    • Assisting with contracts, author communication, filing, and compiling reports as needed
    • Participating in brainstorming and ideation as needed alongside the Lilly grant project team
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Annually affirm InterVarsity's Statement of Faith
    • High school degree and enrolled in an undergraduate program
    • Ability to take charge of tasks and work independently without close supervision
    • Strong communicator, with excellent writing and editing skillsFast reader, with the ability to skim, select, and summarize relevant content quickly
    • Strong organizational and research skills
    • Creative, resourceful, and flexible
    • Detail-oriented with demonstrated experience and excellence in administrative work
    • Comfortable with typical applications (Microsoft Office suite) and quick to learn new technologies
    • Interested in multimedia content (audio, video, web-based, mobile apps, etc.)
    • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment
